Science Based Targets initiative

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), launched by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), provides scientific approaches that can be certified by a third party to limit global temperature rise to below 1.5° within the carbon budget. Under this scenario, companies set reasonable carbon reduction targets.

ASUS Science Based Targets

In 2022, ASUS pledged to follow the SBTi's methodology to set ASUS Group carbon reduction targets and pathways and commit to a net-zero goal, and in October 2023, ASUS was approved by SBTi for the near-term targets.

  • Reduce absolute Scope1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions 50% by 2030 from a 2021 base year.
  • Reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from "purchased goods and services" and "use of sold products" 30% by 2030 from a 2021 base year
