Climate Change

Climate change is one of the world''s most important environmental issues in recent years. In the Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) announced in 2013 by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in Stockholm, Sweden, the IPCC believed that from the observation in the late 20th centry, the likelihood of human activities casing the increase in global average temperature has risen from very likely (>90%) in the AR4 to extremely likely (>95%), and the increase in global average temperature will significantly change the global climate, including the increase in extreme weathers such as uneven rainfalls, heavy rains and droughts. Therefore, many countries develop various flexible reduction methods to achieve the purpose of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Management and GHG reduction.

ASUSTeK gradually executes carbon management. In the beginning, we conducted GHG inventory to disclose the emissions in operations. Then we further developed Life Cycle Assessment project to calculate the carbon footprint of the product. Based on the proportion of carbon emissions of the LCA, we analyzed and evaluated the best reduction method to hopefully achieve the ultimate goal of Carbon Neutrality.
